PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ackeem Bailey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Scott might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Down. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ackeem Bailey!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bailey lands an overhand right.
Bailey works Scott's body with a nice hook.
Scott fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bailey cracks Scott with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Bailey cracks Scott with a right hand to the side of the head.
Bailey leaves Scott with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathan Scott. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Scott pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A left lands for Bailey.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The fight stays on the outside here - Scott looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Scott takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Bailey scores with a punch to the head.
Scott with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bailey to score with a decent uppercut.
Scott takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Scott dives in and grabs Bailey's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bailey pushes down on Scott's head and hops out.
Bailey lands a nice shot that snaps Scott's head back.
Bailey is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Scott had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Bailey swats away the attempt to clinch by Scott.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Bailey throws a nice looking combination but Scott bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Scott fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Scott changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bailey tries to avoid it but Scott manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bailey to the ground. Bailey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Scott is breathing heavily.
Bailey throws out a powerful jab.
Good shot there by Bailey.
Scott shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bailey pinned against the cage. Bailey gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bailey scores with a nice head shot.
Bailey throws a shot to the body.

Bailey lands a left and a right that send Scott crashing to the mat, dazed. Bailey thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Scott is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bailey looks to land a combination but Scott avoids it well.
Bailey might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Bailey lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Scott can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Bailey and Scott drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Bailey.
