Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Herb Hurt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacques Rougeau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hurt wants to clinch up but Rougeau keeps it at a distance.
Hurt shoots in but no luck this time.

and Hurt counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hurt.

Rougeau escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hurt gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hurt gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Hurt dives in and grabs Rougeau's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rougeau pushes down on Hurt's head and hops out.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hurt is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Rougeau is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hurt dives into side control.
