Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Harry Kalas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aslak Lappalainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kalas comes into the arena with I Abstain, Converge blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aslak Lappalainen!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lappalainen walks into a left hand.
Kalas thumps Lappalainen with a low kick.
Kalas throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lappalainen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Kalas staying out of range there.
Lappalainen pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kalas has closed the distance and engaged Lappalainen in a clinch.
Lappalainen blocks an elbow strike.
Kalas putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Lappalainen in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Kalas landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Lappalainen looks gassed!

Kalas lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Still in the clinch, Kalas scores with a nice short uppercut.
Kalas lands a damaging elbow.

It looks like Aslak Lappalainen has been cut.

Kalas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A nice leg kick lands there from Kalas.
Lappalainen has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Lappalainen is rocked!
Lappalainen takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Lappalainen is still on wobbly legs! Can Kalas finish him?
Kalas finds Lappalainen's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Lappalainen flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Kalas lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Lappalainen will be OK.
