Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Wade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Salvatore Assante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Assante has chosen Lose Yourself as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assante misses with a head kick.
Assante lands a glancing blow to the side of Wade's head.
A decent looking cross lands there for Assante.
Assante slips a jab from Wade.
Wade blocks a head kick by Assante.
Wade misses with a series of wild punches.
Assante looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

It looks like Salvatore Assante has been cut.

Wade feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Wade wants to pass the guard but Assante is keeping the position.
Wade slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wade throws out a loose jab but Assante uses good head movement to avoid it.

Assante plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Wade cracks Assante with an uppercut from hell and Assante crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Wade's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Assante is rocked!
Wade is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Assante is still in real trouble! Can Wade finish him?

Wade controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Assante seems to have recovered his senses.

Wade stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Assante swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Wade thows a big elbow that misses.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Wade tries to bum rush Assante with a series of wild strikes but Assante uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Wade avoids the head kick by Assante.
Assante throws a head kick but Wade moves out of range.
Assante keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Wade.
Wade misses with a double jab.
Wade fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Nice body kick from Assante.
Wade is breathing heavily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Wade fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Assante looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Assante ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

and Assante counters with a body kick.
Assante fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dan Wade will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Assante throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Assante uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Assante with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Assante misses with a head kick.
Assante misses with a body kick.
Assante swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

It looks like Dan Wade has been cut.
Assante throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Assante misses with a body shot.
Salvatore Assante seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Assante throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Wade.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Assante cracks Wade with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Wade is rocked!
Assante is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Wade hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
