Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tonho da Lua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and ARMAND PAREDES (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

PAREDES clinches.

PAREDES has hold of one of da Lua's legs. da Lua is fighting the takedown attempt but PAREDES gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

da Lua is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

PAREDES breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
PAREDES tries for a takedown but da Lua sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

PAREDES lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear da Lua down.

PAREDES wants to stand but da Lua has his arm trapped.

da Lua sneaks back into half guard.
PAREDES should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
da Lua trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

PAREDES is working for a guillotine from mount but da Lua frees his head quite easily.
da Lua regains half guard.
PAREDES is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
da Lua is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
da Lua trying to control but PAREDES postures up.
PAREDES trying to mount his opponent but da Lua defends it.
PAREDES stops da Lua from getting back to his feet.

PAREDES is stalling here. da Lua is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! PAREDES seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and da Lua has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
da Lua tries to advance to mount but PAREDES denies him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - PAREDES looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Tonho da Lua has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of ARMAND PAREDES.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

da Lua has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
da Lua throws a nice looking combination but PAREDES bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tonho da Lua dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

da Lua tries to clinch there but PAREDES circles away.

da Lua moves into the clinch.

PAREDES escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
da Lua throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
da Lua doesn't succeed with the takedown

and PAREDES counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for da Lua!
PAREDES throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for da Lua because PAREDES loaded up on that one.
da Lua wants to hold on but PAREDES pushes him away.
PAREDES wants to control the pace but da Lua is squirming around nicely.
PAREDES might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control da Lua kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
da Lua wants to control but PAREDES is having none of it.
PAREDES is breathing heavily.

PAREDES tries to control but da Lua wriggling away.
da Lua tries to hold on but PAREDES pushes him away.
da Lua is desperately trying to improve his position but PAREDES has a good base and remains in mount.
PAREDES throws some wild stikes that da Lua manages to avoid easily.
PAREDES really doesn't want to stay on the ground with da Lua. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
da Lua wants to hold on but PAREDES pushes him away.
Tonho da Lua overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

PAREDES trying to control from half guard but da Lua is working away.
da Lua is trying to control but can't.

da Lua pushes PAREDES off and gets back to his feet.

and da Lua counters with a nice double leg into side control. PAREDES won't be happy with that.

da Lua tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
da Lua wants to take a breather but PAREDES manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for da Lua.

da Lua stands and steps away. PAREDES gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
da Lua tries to clinch but PAREDES is having none of it.
da Lua shoots in looking for a takedown. PAREDES tries to sprawl out of it but da Lua keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. PAREDES manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
PAREDES throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

da Lua has isolated one of PAREDES's arms. PAREDES looking to fight him off but da Lua twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
