Carlson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is bouncing souls - olé. Semi Silva has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Chester Carlson's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a body kick.
Silva scores with a hook to the body. Carlson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Silva misses with a jab, cross combination.
Silva ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
A slapping body kick lands there for Silva.
Silva cracks Carlson with a right hand to the side of the head.
Semi Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carlson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Silva misses with a series of wild punches.
Carlson looks to land a body kick but Silva moved away.
Silva cracks the inside of Carlson's front leg.
Silva cracks a nice hook into Carlson's ribs.
Carlson blocks a jab.
Silva throws a looping overhand right but Carlson ducks down to avoid it.
Silva cracks Carlson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silva throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Carlson.
Silva throws out a loose jab but Carlson uses good head movement to avoid it.

Carlson tries to land a front kick but Silva steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

and Silva counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Silva.
Carlson can't keep his opponent in guard - Silva advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Silva lands with some strikes.
Carlson is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Carlson is breathing heavily.
Silva sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Silva pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Silva looking to control but Carlson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Carlson is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Silva has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Carlson really wants to buck Silva off and get back to his feet.
