The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

State closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cross Bitume to the mat! Cross Bitume manages to get full guard.
Cross Bitume looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Cross Bitume escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. State gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Cross Bitume controls State momentarily but State frees himself.
State is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
State trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

State gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

State shoots in and bounces Cross Bitume off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

State decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cross Bitume, up you get!

State drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cross Bitume manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now State has Cross Bitume in his guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

State shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cross Bitume's guard.
