The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donato is looking to clinch.
Donato tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.
Donato fails with an attempt to clinch.
Silva uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Donato.
Donato throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Silva slips a jab and a cross from Donato.
Silva lands a jab to Donato's midsection.
Donato's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Donato duly obliges.

It looks like Miguel Silva has been cut.
Donato rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Donato tries to clinch up.
Donato wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance.
Donato misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Silva counters with a two punch combo.

Silva shoots in but no luck this time.

Silva tries for a takedown but Donato sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Silva thuds a left hand into Donato's body.
Donato tries to clinch up.
Silva circles away from the clinch attempt.
A jab from Donato misses.
Silva slips a jab from Donato.
Silva lands with a nice combination. Donato backs away looking to recover.

Donato gets caught flat footed, as Silva shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Silva passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Silva throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
The ground and pound from Silva seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Silva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Donato, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Donato is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Silva yanks on the arm and Donato is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Silva.
