Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ronan McKenna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pesho Talpata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McKenna comes to the cage accompanied by Iron Maiden Run To The Hills. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ronan McKenna!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pesho Talpata!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Kavanagh and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Talpata bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
McKenna is trying to get back to his feet.
Talpata is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt McKenna will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
McKenna is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Talpata asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Talpata taking a break here but McKenna is having none of it and regains half guard.
Talpata wants to advance to full mount but McKenna doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Talpata missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Talpata wants to control from the top but McKenna keeps moving.
Talpata postures up in McKenna's guard and throws a big left but McKenna blocks it.
McKenna preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Talpata stays in close to McKenna's body and controls the position.
Talpata throws and elbow that misses. McKenna uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Talpata's guard. Nice move by McKenna!

McKenna throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Talpata works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
McKenna gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Talpata counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
McKenna is looking to stand up but Talpata isn't so interested in that idea.

Talpata controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Talpata lands a couple of decent looking shots.

McKenna wants to stand up but Talpata is controlling him.
Talpata must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Talpata postures up in McKenna's guard and throws a big left but McKenna blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pesho Talpata dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


McKenna takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

and Talpata counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Talpata trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Talpata stops McKenna from standing up.
Talpata wants to control from the top but McKenna keeps moving.
Talpata postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Talpata stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McKenna swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Talpata manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McKenna manages to get himself to full guard.
Talpata wants to control from the top but McKenna keeps moving.

Talpata throws a strike but McKenna rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McKenna loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Talpata lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McKenna!

Talpata wants to control the pace but McKenna is squirming around nicely.
Talpata tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Pesho Talpata has got the better of the ground game so far.
Talpata connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The referee warns McKenna that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
McKenna is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Talpata connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Talpata postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked McKenna badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Talpata around the waist but Talpata pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Talpata is the winner by TKO! Talpata jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pesho Talpata!
