The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duc fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Lanza shoots for a double leg takedown but Duc sprawls well. He's pushed Lanza's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jean Duc seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lanza keeps the fight on the outside.

Duc has taken the fight to the clinch.
Duc goes for a takedown attempt but Lanza pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duc takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Duc lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lanza is not content to let Duc control the position.

Lanza is trying to maintain the position but Duc is very close to passing his half guard.
Duc stops Lanza from getting back to his feet.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Duc connects with a nice short shot to Lanza's temple.
Lanza wants to control but Duc is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Duc drops an elbow to the side of Lanza's head.

Duc has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Lanza defend it? Duc steps over the head and cranks it - Lanza is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Duc!
