Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ares Summers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sub Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sub Zero will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ares Summers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sub Zero!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Summers fails with the takedown.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Summers with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Summers takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Zero tries to reverse the position but Summers maintains control.

Summers has hold of Zero's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Zero manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Summers stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Horrible takedown by Summers or perhaps it was just good defense by Zero which made him look bad.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Zero is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Summers is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Summers has escaped and now he's on top!
Summers stands and throws Zero's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Summers thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Summers is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Zero is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Summers has control of Zero's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Zero regains control of the situation pretty easily.
