With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Eugene Burns Jr!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Burns Jr as he jumps to the side.

Burns Jr closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mason to the mat! Mason manages to get full guard.
Mason manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Mason can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Burns Jr is looking to escape.

Mason swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Burns Jr is now in Mason's guard. A big mistake from Mason there, giving up the dominant position!

Mason working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Burns Jr doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Burns Jr manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mason is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mason jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Burns Jr manages to avoid the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Eugene Burns Jr will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Mason gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Burns Jr counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mason won't be happy with that.
Mason is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Burns Jr prevents Mason from improving his position.
Burns Jr is nestled in close to Mason, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Mason is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mason is working hard here to advance position.
Burns Jr wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mason keeps working.
Mason wants to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Burns Jr doesn't manage to clinch there - Mason circles away.
Burns Jr is breathing heavily.
Burns Jr misses with a low kick.

Mason drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mason tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mason has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mason is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Burns Jr has escaped the position, nice work there.

Mason has hold of Burns Jr's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Burns Jr seems comfortable defending it but Mason has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Burns Jr is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Burns Jr is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Mason couldn't care less - he's delighted!
