Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gary Dove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Clifford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Gary Dove has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clifford circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dove stuffs the takedown attempt from Clifford. Clifford gets slowly back to his feet.

Clifford moves into range and clinches up with Dove.

Clifford escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Clifford shoots in for a double leg but Dove sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Gary Dove has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Clifford.

Clifford feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Dove is trying to stick to Clifford's back but Clifford is turning into Dove. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Dove's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Clifford.

Dove escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Clifford gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Clifford drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dove looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dove looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dove!

Dove thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Clifford is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Dove jumps into side control!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
