The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson tries to close the distance and clinch but Wright swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Wright misses with the combination.
Wright scores with a crisp jab that stopped Patterson in his tracks.
Patterson thows a body shot but no joy.
Wright looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Wright rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Patterson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Wright scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Patterson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wright paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Wright clinches up with Patterson and pushes him back against the cage.
Patterson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Wright breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Patterson closes the distance and clinches.
Patterson goes for a takedown attempt but Wright pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Wright gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wright wants to stand up but Patterson is controlling him.

Patterson tries to free his leg and advance position but Wright is retaining full guard.
Wright wants to stand up but Patterson is controlling him.
Patterson throws a big right hand that misses.
Wright wants to stand and escape but Patterson is having none of it.

Wright manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Wright moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Kyle Wright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Patterson has a takedown stuffed.
Kyle Wright has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rickard Patterson.
Patterson moves out of range of the strikes.

Wright misses with a few strikes there.
Patterson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wright is fending him off so far but Patterson persists. Nope, Wright circles away and we're back to standing.
Patterson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Kyle Wright is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nice takedown defense from Wright. No joy for Patterson on that attempt.
Wright scores with a jab to the jaw.

Wright tries to keep at a distance but Patterson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Patterson is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Patterson jumps guard but Wright stands there with Patterson around his waist. Patterson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Patterson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Patterson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wright dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Patterson looks gassed!
A jab lands there for Wright.
Wright connects with the punch.
Patterson shoots in for a takedown but Wright shows good takedown defense.
Wright lands with a right hand.
Wright scores with a jab to the jaw.

Wright lands a left and a right that send Patterson crashing to the mat, dazed. Wright thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Patterson is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wright sizes up Patterson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Patterson is still on wobbly legs! Can Wright finish him?
Wright throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Patterson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
A lazy left from Wright finds it's target.
Wright lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Patterson loses concentration momentarily and Wright pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Patterson crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Wright finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
