Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ros Ludovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maurice Lafay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ros Ludovic has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ros Ludovic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Maurice Lafay!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Alyssa Summers and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ludovic drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Ludovic turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ludovic manages to end up in side control.
Lafay can't do much from the bottom here.
Lafay manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Lafay tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Lafay is trying to control the action in half guard but Ludovic is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Lafay looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Ludovic is looking for a sweep. Lafay is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lafay tries to stand and escape but Ludovic is controlling the position.
Ludovic wants to control but Lafay is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Lafay clinches up with Ludovic and pushes him back against the cage.
Ludovic is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lafay gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Ludovic drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lafay pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ros Ludovic. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ludovic shoots in looking for a takedown. Lafay tries to sprawl out of it but Ludovic keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lafay manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Lafay closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Lafay can't get the takedown.

Ludovic gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Ludovic will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ludovic is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Lafay as he works his way to full guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Lafay shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lafay was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Lafay tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
I looks like Lafay might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Lafay tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Ludovic tries to lock up and control but Lafay gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Ludovic defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Lafay.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Lafay clinches up against the cage.

Lafay has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ludovic regains guard immediately.

Ludovic had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lafay defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lafay wants to stand but Ludovic is controlling his posture from full guard.

Ludovic has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lafay can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Lafay's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lafay trying to control the position from guard on top but Ludovic is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lafay postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Lafay trying to stand up but can't free himself from Ludovic's guard.
Lafay slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Let's hope that Lafay has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Lafay postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Ludovic escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lafay gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ludovic avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Lafay closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ludovic to the mat! Ludovic manages to get full guard.
Ludovic not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lafay not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Ludovic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lafay doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lafay manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lafay drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lafay jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Ludovic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ludovic wants to clinch up but Lafay keeps it at a distance.

Ludovic shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Lafay counters by clinching up.
Ludovic drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lafay pulls his leg out and moves away.
Lafay stalks Ludovic and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ludovic's face. Ludovic staggers backwards, shaken.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Lafay has Ludovic up against the cage in a clinch.
Ludovic has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lafay is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ros Ludovic. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lafay is pressed up against the cage. Ludovic has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lafay down to the mat. Lafay avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Lafay thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Maurice Lafay showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Ludovic's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Lafay shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ludovic napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ludovic stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lafay swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Maurice Lafay is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Lafay bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ludovic's guard.

Ludovic looking for a guillotine here but Lafay defends easily.

Well Lafay has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
