Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Max Fightmaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Spivey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Max Fightmaster has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Max Fightmaster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Richard Spivey!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spivey tries to clinch there but Fightmaster circles away.

Fightmaster moves into range and clinches up with Spivey.
Fightmaster tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Spivey avoids it.
Fightmaster tries to land knees in the clinch but Spivey avoids the damage to the body.

Fightmaster unloads a knee to the mid-section. Spivey lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Fightmaster stands up and waves to Spivey to follow him.

and Spivey decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fightmaster's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Spivey wants to control from the top but Fightmaster keeps moving.
Fightmaster really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Spivey stands up from Fightmaster's guard - Spivey perhaps looking for a knockout.

and Spivey counters with a two punch combo.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Fightmaster moves out of range as Spivey throws a body kick.
Spivey circles away from the clinch attempt

and Spivey counters with a takedown into side control.
Spivey laying and praying for a moment but Fightmaster takes advantage and regains half guard.

Spivey is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fightmaster defends it well.
It looks like Spivey is going to stand back up.

Fightmaster tries to kick Spivey off but Spivey keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Fightmaster kicks Spivey off and gets back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fightmaster closes the distance but Spivey moves to the side

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Spivey throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fightmaster's waist but Fightmaster gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Spivey off to one side.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Spivey is trying to control the position but Fightmaster postures up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Fightmaster wants to clinch up but Spivey keeps it at a distance.
Max Fightmaster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spivey throws a head kick that misses.

and Spivey counters with a nice double leg into side control. Fightmaster won't be happy with that.

Spivey throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Fightmaster works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Spivey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fightmaster keeps working.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Spivey is looking to advance position but Fightmaster won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Fightmaster kicks off Spivey and gets to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Richard Spivey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Spivey shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Fightmaster is trying to defend but Spivey finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Spivey can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fightmaster is looking to escape.

Fightmaster is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fightmaster is squirming around, avoiding Spivey's attempts to control the action.
Spivey misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Fightmaster's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Max Fightmaster has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Richard Spivey is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Spivey looking to control but Fightmaster is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
