Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Mountbatten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buffalo Bill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Buffalo Bill was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Mountbatten!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Buffalo Bill!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mountbatten tries to clinch but Bill moves out of range.
Bill shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bill throws a solid leg kick but Mountbatten takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Bill.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mountbatten looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mountbatten moves in looking to clinch but Bill pushes him off.
Mountbatten is looking to clinch but Bill is avoiding it.
Mountbatten tries to clinch up.
Mountbatten displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bill throws out the jab.
Mountbatten tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mountbatten closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Mountbatten fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bill, pushing him back against the cage.

Bill tries to score a body lock takedown but Mountbatten shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Mountbatten is trying to break the clinch but Bill has him pressed against the cage.
Mountbatten throws a head punch that misses.
Mountbatten wants to break free but Bill has control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mountbatten is trying to maintain a safe position but Bill gets an underhook and turns Mountbatten into the cage.

Bill manages to break the clinch.

Mountbatten shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Mountbatten tries to push Bill's head away but Bill is holding on tight.
Mountbatten sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Mountbatten moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bill has worked his arm free - good work by Bill!
Bill wants to get back to his feet but Mountbatten drags him back down.

Mountbatten looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mountbatten decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Bill shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mountbatten as he avoids it easily.
William Mountbatten has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Buffalo Bill.

Mountbatten doesn't manage to clinch there - Bill circles away.
Mountbatten tries to clinch but Bill moves out of range.

Mountbatten clinches up with Bill and pushes him back against the cage.
Bill is trying to break the clinch but Mountbatten has him pressed against the cage.
Mountbatten can't break the clinch.
Bill blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Mountbatten misses with a short punch on the inside.
Mountbatten lands a hook that snaps the head of Bill backwards.
Mountbatten wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Bill tries to land knees in the clinch but Mountbatten avoids the damage to the body.
Mountbatten wants to get back to striking at distance but Bill won't allow it.

Bill changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mountbatten fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Bill misses with a takedown attempt - Mountbatten sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Mountbatten darts in and clinches Bill up against the cage.
Mountbatten swings wildly with an uppercut but Bill uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mountbatten cracks Bill with a nice body shot.
Mountbatten is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Mountbatten breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Donk. Mountbatten catches Bill right on the button with a cross.

and Bill holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Mountbatten wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Mountbatten throws a head punch that misses.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Bill tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Mountbatten has had enough of the clinch but Bill keeps him there for the moment.

Mountbatten breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bill looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Bill counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Mountbatten is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bill is controlling him.
Bill trying to control the position from guard on top but Mountbatten is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Mountbatten wants to stand but Bill is controlling the position.
Bill works over Mountbatten with some ground and pound from guard.

Mountbatten has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bill can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that William Mountbatten will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Mountbatten decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bill, up you get!
Bill is breathing heavily.
Mountbatten changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
William Mountbatten seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bill shoots in looking for a takedown. Mountbatten tries to sprawl out of it but Bill keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mountbatten manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Mountbatten clinches up with Bill and pushes him back against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bill ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bill no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Bill pulls Mountbatten in close to his closed guard and prevents Mountbatten from doing any damage or advancing position.
Let's hope that Bill has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mountbatten's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Bill is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mountbatten is controlling him.

Mountbatten gets to his feet. Bill looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Mountbatten tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bill swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Mountbatten takes the fight into the clinch.

Bill breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Bill is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mountbatten is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Mountbatten is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bill is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Mountbatten's shoulder. That is not cool.
Bill moves into full mount!

Bill with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

It looks like William Mountbatten has been cut.

Oh Mountbatten is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mountbatten tries to reverse the position but Bill maintains control.
Mountbatten has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Bill lands a shot to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bill scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Mountbatten is looking for a way out.

Bill working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Mountbatten is doing well to defend. Bill seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Mountbatten is forced to tap and this one is over!
