Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Glen Growes!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Badam fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Badam avoids the head kick by Growes.
Growes misses with a straight right.
Badam keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Growes.
Badam wants to clinch.
Growes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Badam staying out of range there.
Growes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Growes wants it to stay on the feet.
Badam takes one to the chin there.
Badam misses with a low kick.

Badam is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Growes's half guard.

Growes is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Growes makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Growes.

Growes is working an open guard so Badam takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Growes throws an overhand right that lands on Badam's shoulder, as Badam tries to avoid the shot.

Badam throws a solid leg kick but Growes takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Badam.
Growes throws a body punch but Badam moves out of range.
Badam avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

and Badam counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Growes gets back to full guard.
Growes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Growes thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Badam's head.

Growes seems to be looking for submissions.

Badam tries to roll over but Growes keeps him under control.

Growes is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Badam doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Growes.

Growes wants to take a breather but Badam is having none of it.
Growes looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Badam with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Growes is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Badam defends it well.

Growes is nestled in close to Badam, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Growes drops back looking for a leg! Badam is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Badam manages to kick Growes off! Growes jumps back into Badam's guard.

Badam might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Growes not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Growes is pushing down on Badam's leg trying to pass to half guard. Badam is fighting to maintain full guard but Growes has managed to sneak the leg through.
Growes wants to control but Badam is keeping him busy.

Growes winds up and cracks Badam with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Growes lands a nice shot that snaps Badam's head back.
Growes throws out a loose jab but Badam uses good head movement to avoid it.
Growes moves out of range of the leg kick from Badam.
Growes lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Badam fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Growes sprawls well initially but Badam persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Badam ducks under a wild hook from Growes.
Growes scores with a hook to the body. Badam takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Glen Growes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Growes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Badam swivels and escapes.
Growes jabbing away but nothing is landing.

A right-left combo lands from Badam.
Growes jabs at Badam's body.
Growes might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

and Badam counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Growes looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Growes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Badam is one step ahead there.
Sam Badam overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Badam tries to stand but Growes is controlling from the bottom.

Growes is looking to sinch up a triangle. Badam throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Growes's body to avoid the submission. Growes has instead reached around Badam's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Growes arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
