Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Orton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Orton has chosen Rev Theory - Voices as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Johnson circles away.

Johnson decides to stand back up. Johnson steps back and let's Orton get back to his feet.

Orton closes the distance and pushes Johnson back into the cage.

A frustrated look appears on Johnson's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Orton has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Johnson uses from the top position.
Johnson wants to get up but he can't break Orton's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Johnson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Orton is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Johnson, into his guard.

and Johnson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Orton's guard.

Orton jumps guard but Johnson stands there with Orton around his waist. Orton gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

and Orton takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Orton is trying to control the position but Johnson postures up.
Orton might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Johnson kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
