Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Julian Sandar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Kesler!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kesler shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Sandar working for submissions but it's allowed Kesler to get to half guard.

Kesler must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Kesler drops back looking for a leg! Sandar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sandar manages to kick Kesler off! Kesler jumps back into Sandar's guard.

Kesler drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sandar looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sandar looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sandar!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kesler is looking for a kimura but Sandar is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kesler to get the leverage.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Kesler decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kesler wants to free his trapped foot but Sandar is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Kesler is nestled in close to Sandar, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Sandar is refusing to be controlled, as Kesler sits in half guard.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Kesler! Sandar is hurt baaadly! Kesler is firing away with more strikes - Sandar is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Ryan Kesler!
