Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belfort with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Belfort looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Belfort rushes Silva and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Silva trying to stall but Belfort improves his position.
Silva has had enough of the clinch but Belfort keeps him there for the moment.

Belfort keeps control of Silva as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Silva jumps guard but Belfort stands there with Silva around his waist. Silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Belfort is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Silva gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Silva tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Belfort smiles and moves away.
Belfort blocks a head kick by Silva.
Silva tries to clinch up.
Silva moves out of range of the body kick from Belfort.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Belfort feints and as Silva raises his hands in defense, Belfort changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Silva is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Belfort frees his head nicely. Oh but Silva has switched to an armbar! Belfort is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
