Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dave Dias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lt Parrotface (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lt Parrotface has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Dave Dias's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Dias!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Lt Parrotface!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dias fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Parrotface closes the distance and clinches.
Dias tries to score a body lock takedown but Parrotface shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Parrotface landing knees to the head.


It looks like Dave Dias has been cut.
Parrotface effectively controlling the action here.

Dias fails to pull guard.

Dias is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Parrotface pulls him back up using the underhooks.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Parrotface swings wildly with an uppercut but Dias uses good head movement to avoid it.

Parrotface breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dias tries to clinch but Parrotface moves out of range.

Dias closes the distance and clinches up with Parrotface, looking for a takedown. Dias pushes Parrotface against the cage but Parrotface circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Parrotface pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Parrotface wants to clinch up but Dias keeps it at a distance.
Dias pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Horrible takedown by Dias or perhaps it was just good defense by Parrotface which made him look bad.
Dias shoots for a double leg takedown but Parrotface sprawls well. He's pushed Dias's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Parrotface wants to clinch.
Dias moves out of range of the body kick from Parrotface.

Dias closes the distance and clinches.
Dias goes for a takedown in the clinch but Parrotface prevents it.
Dias is trying to break the clinch but Parrotface has him pressed against the cage.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Parrotface checks a leg kick.

Dias lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Parrotface is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dias gets his way!

Dias lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Dias has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Dave Dias just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Dias shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Parrotface as he jumps to the side.
Parrotface fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dias has a takedown stuffed.

Dias drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Dias has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Dias slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Dias passes Parrotface's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Dias takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Dias wants to pass the guard but Parrotface is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Parrotface takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Dias is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Parrotface!

Parrotface is bucking up trying to escape but Dias cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Dias postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Parrotface looks a forlorn figure.

Dias's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
