Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nate Liandro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and fedor emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Liandro shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
emelianenko is staying active underneath Liandro, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
emelianenko is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
emelianenko tries to roll over but Liandro keeps him under control.
Liandro is trying to control. emelianenko wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Liandro looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Liandro could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
emelianenko tries to kick Liandro off but Liandro keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Liandro with the ground and pound but emelianenko uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Liandro trying to control the position from guard on top but emelianenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Liandro missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Liandro wants to pass the guard but emelianenko is keeping the position.
Liandro looking to sit in guard and control but emelianenko gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Liandro is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst emelianenko is controlling him.
Liandro not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
emelianenko takes one on the chin but seems OK.

It looks like fedor emelianenko has been cut.
Liandro throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around emelianenko's waist but emelianenko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Liandro off to one side.
emelianenko seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Liandro shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! emelianenko is backing up but Liandro catches him with a final right hook that drops him! emelianenko covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Liandro Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nate Liandro!
