PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between MAX SWAGGER (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think SWAGGER might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Crawl/ Kings of Leon. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

SWAGGER pushes Penn up against the cage in a clinch.

Penn is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and SWAGGER defends well.

Penn had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. SWAGGER defends it easily.
SWAGGER wants to control from the top but Penn keeps moving.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Penn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has SWAGGER pinned against the cage. SWAGGER gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

MAX SWAGGER has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Penn.

The crowd cheers as SWAGGER lands an impressive looking overhand right. Penn doesn't seem phased though.

It looks like Mark Penn has been cut.
A nice combination there by SWAGGER.

This has been an exciting period of action!
SWAGGER stands up over Penn, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

No joy there for SWAGGER, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Penn avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
SWAGGER shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Penn as he jumps to the side.

SWAGGER is trying to control Penn's posture but Penn avoids it.

That's time! SWAGGER's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Penn is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. SWAGGER knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Penn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Penn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now SWAGGER is on top in guard.

SWAGGER has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Penn is working away from the top position though.

Well SWAGGER has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
