The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dasher as he avoids it easily.
Dasher lands a body shot.
Penn dives in and grabs Dasher's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dasher pushes down on Penn's head and hops out.
Dasher ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Dasher misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Penn.
Penn fails with a takedown attempt.
Dirk Dasher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Craig Penn.
Dasher tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Penn was well out of range. Poor timing from Dasher.
Penn steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dasher.
Dasher scores with a jab. Penn acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Penn thuds a left hand into Dasher's body.
Penn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dasher sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Penn somewhat.
Dasher misses with a hook. Penn ducked under it nicely.
Penn slips a jab and a cross from Dasher.
Penn walks into a straight right hand from Dasher.

Dirk Dasher is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Penn.
Horrible takedown by Penn or perhaps it was just good defense by Dasher which made him look bad.
Dasher throws a predictable looking body shot

and Penn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dasher's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Penn pushes down on Dasher's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Dasher is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Penn is trying to control the action in half guard but Dasher is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Penn is looking to advance position but Dasher won't allow it.
Penn is looking to take a break and control but Dasher is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Dasher has a hand on Penn's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Penn takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
