Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rod Wallis!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slate swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Slate misses with a straight right.
Slate looks to throw the jab but Wallis is out of range.
Slate misses with a hook.
Slate throws a body punch but Wallis moves out of range.
Slate throws a right hand that Wallis ducks under and follows up with a left that Wallis also avoids with ease.
Slate misses with a series of wild punches.
Wallis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Slate avoids it really well and circles away.
Slate throws a body punch but Wallis moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slate throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Wallis fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Slate is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Wallis's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Wallis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Slate but Slate pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jesus Slate has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rod Wallis.
Slate bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Wallis's head.
Slate throws a right and a left that Wallis avoids nicely.
Wallis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Slate.

Wallis uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Slate.

Slate looks to throw the jab but Wallis is out of range.
Slate throws an overhand right that lands on Wallis's shoulder, as Wallis tries to avoid the shot.
Jesus Slate seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jesus Slate is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Slate is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Wallis avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Slate swinging wildly here.
Wallis shoots in for a takedown but Slate shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Slate scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Wallis doesn't seem bothered though.

Wallis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Wallis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Slate is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Wallis locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Slate is forced to tap!
