PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Doug Robertson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Leary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Doug Robertson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tim Leary!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robertson tries to clinch up.
Robertson throws a series of punches but Leary moves out of range.

Leary fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Robertson sprawls well initially but Leary persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Leary seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Robertson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Robertson swings wildly with an uppercut but Leary uses good head movement to avoid it.
Robertson works on Leary's body with a couple of short punches.

Robertson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Leary is trying to keep an underhook but Robertson manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Robertson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Leary does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Robertson holds on and takes a little breather.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Robertson gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Robertson apologises and we restart here on the feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Doug Robertson.
I think Robertson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
