The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoodoo throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hoodoo slaps away a takedown attempt from Rottergren, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Hoodoo is fighting to break Rottergren's control of his arms but Rottergren is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hoodoo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hoodoo stands up over Rottergren, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Rottergren is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rottergren is defended easily by Hoodoo.
Rottergren dives in and grabs Hoodoo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hoodoo pushes down on Rottergren's head and hops out.

Hoodoo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Hoodoo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hoodoo shoots in looking for a takedown. Rottergren tries to sprawl out of it but Hoodoo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rottergren manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Hoodoo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Rottergren's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
