Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Tran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Petey Pablo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pablo has chosen Freek-A-Leek as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tran tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Pablo has closed the distance and engaged Tran in a clinch.

Pablo works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Pablo wants to pass the guard but Tran is keeping the position.

Tran had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pablo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Tran Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pablo's back instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tran scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Pablo is looking for a way out.
Tran lands a shot to the body.
Tran lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Pablo is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Tran off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Pablo tries to roll but Tran sticks to his back.

Tran is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Pablo has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Tran has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Pablo taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Tran doesn't care though - he's delighted!
