The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Old Man misses with a double jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - van der Vaart looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
van der Vaart is looking to land body kicks.
Old Man scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
van der Vaart clinches up with Old Man and pushes him back against the cage.
van der Vaart tries to pull guard but Old Man won't allow it.
van der Vaart pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Old Man avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
van der Vaart falls off balance throwing a combination
and Old Man counters with a nice uppercut.

and van der Vaart takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
van der Vaart gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Old Man counter with a right hand.
Old Man works the jab nicely.
A combination from Old Man does no damage.

van der Vaart looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
van der Vaart takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Old Man digs a good hook to van der Vaart's body.

Roni Old Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matthijs van der Vaart.
Old Man throws a series of punches but van der Vaart avoids them all with ease.
Old Man really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
