The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasco bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Velasco closes the distance and clinches up with arm, looking for a takedown. Velasco pushes arm against the cage but arm circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

arm moves into range and connects with a jab.

It looks like Severino Velasco has been cut.

Velasco feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Velasco drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Velasco seems to have locked his on tight now - arm screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Velasco, as he picks up the win!
