The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCartny tries to clinch there but Alkofer circles away.
McCartny rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alkofer moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Alkofer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McCartny circles away from the clinch attempt
and McCartny counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Alkofer gets a clinch.
Alkofer wants to stall.
McCartny has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Alkofer is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
McCartny lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Alkofer.
Alkofer tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McCartny smiles and moves away.
Alkofer gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and McCartny counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by McCartny.
McCartny trying to control but Alkofer is working from the bottom.

Alkofer wants to sweep here but McCartny controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alkofer is breathing heavily.

Alkofer wants to stand and escape but McCartny is having none of it.
Alkofer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McCartny controls the pace.
McCartny cracks Alkofer with a solid left hand.
McCartny wants to control from the top but Alkofer keeps moving.
McCartny gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
McCartny lands with a nice body kick.
McCartny has taken the fight to the clinch.
McCartny manages to break the clinch.
No joy there for McCartny, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Alkofer counters with a lovely straight right hand!

McCartny swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
McCartny is looking to clinch.
Both fighters circling a little - McCartny finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Alkofer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McCartny closes the distance and clinches.
McCartny can't get the takedown.
McCartny drags the fight down to the ground.
McCartny has his feet on Alkofer's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
McCartny moves into the clinch.
McCartny is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Alkofer pulls him back up using the underhooks.

McCartny has picked Alkofer up - he's going for a ride! McCartny dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McCartny stands up and beckons Alkofer to join him on the feet.

Alkofer throws a head kick that misses.
Alkofer swats away the attempt to clinch by McCartny.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McCartny gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Alkofer regains guard.
McCartny is posturing up here but Alkofer has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! McCartny tries to roll out but it's too tight and McCartny has to tap! Slick submission there by Alkofer!
