The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DomDom shoots for a double leg takedown but Silvia sprawls well. He's pushed DomDom's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Silvia tries to clinch up but DomDom circles away and keeps his distance.
Silvia is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
DomDom shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silvia as he jumps to the side.

Silvia has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Silvia swings around for an armbar but DomDom sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Silvia's guard.
Silvia manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. DomDom manages to get himself to full guard.

Silvia sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed DomDom's guard.

Silvia is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but DomDom still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, DomDom has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

DomDom tries to stand but Silvia is controlling his head.
Silvia is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Silvia is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. DomDom lands a nice short elbow.
Silvia tries to roll over but DomDom keeps him under control.

DomDom wants to control from the top but Silvia keeps moving.
DomDom wants to get up but he can't break Silvia's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Silvia has his foot on DomDom's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. DomDom works his way back into a safe position though.
