Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Craig Regan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Obomba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Craig Regan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Barry Obomba!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Obomba gets a clinch.

Regan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Regan tries to clinch but Obomba moves away
and Obomba counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Regan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Obomba misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A combination from Obomba does no damage.
Obomba lands a jab-cross combination.

Regan drives through with a takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Regan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Regan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Regan darts in trying to clinch
and Obomba counters with a leg kick.
Obomba tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Regan swivels and escapes.
Obomba blocks a head kick by Regan.

Obomba gets the takedown into side control.
Regan is looking to reverse the position.
Obomba lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Regan down.
Obomba creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Regan defending against the ground and pound.

Obomba lands a decent elbow from side control.
Regan wants to control but Obomba postures up.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Regan tries to improve position but can't.
Obomba cracks Regan with a big elbow.
Obomba has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Regan is looking to regain half guard here but Obomba keeps moving and retains side control.
Obomba creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Obomba is working to tighten is grip on Regan's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Regan has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Obomba is really squeezing tight and eventually Regan passes out! Obomba breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
