Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between BV Rasp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Soprano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Soprano has chosen Got yourself a Gun as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, BV Rasp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Anthony Soprano!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasp wants to clinch up but Soprano keeps it at a distance.
Soprano fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Rasp fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Soprano moves away from the strike by Rasp.
Anthony Soprano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Soprano shoots and misses
and Rasp counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


It looks like Anthony Soprano has been cut.

Soprano shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rasp is trying to defend but Soprano finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Rasp actively working from the bottom here.

Rasp is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Soprano pulls his head out easily.
Rasp wants to control but Soprano is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rasp tries to lock up and control but Soprano gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Soprano looking to control but Rasp is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rasp is looking to get to half guard.
Rasp is squirming around, avoiding Soprano's attempts to control the action.
Rasp is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rasp sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Soprano is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Rasp looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Rasp wants to control but Soprano passes into side.

Soprano wants to pass the guard but Rasp is defending well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rasp is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Soprano is stalling here. Rasp is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Soprano seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Rasp has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Rasp stops Soprano from getting back to his feet.
Rasp trying to mount his opponent but Soprano defends it.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

That was a close round but I would say that BV Rasp will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Anthony Soprano's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Soprano fails with a takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rasp looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Rasp forces Soprano back against the cage and clinches.
Soprano changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rasp fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Soprano shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rasp pinned against the cage. Rasp gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
BV Rasp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Soprano.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Soprano closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Rasp gets back to full guard.

Rasp lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Soprano!

Rasp is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Soprano has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Rasp misses with a head shot.
Rasp trying to control but Soprano is having none of it.
Soprano sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Rasp is trying to control. Soprano wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Soprano pushes Rasp off looking to stand but Rasp dives back in and keeps control.

Rasp looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Soprano wants to get back to his feet.

Rasp is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Rasp tries to pass the half guard into mount. Soprano knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Rasp is taking a breather. Soprano says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Rasp wants to take a breather but Soprano is having none of it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Soprano looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Rasp!
Rasp tries to hold on but Soprano postures up.

Soprano is thwarting Rasp's attempts to control the position.
Soprano wants to control but Rasp is keeping him busy.
Soprano is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rasp!

Rasp will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rasp is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Soprano must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Rasp tries to close the distance and clinch but Soprano swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
No luck for Soprano with that takedown attempt.

and Rasp counters with a single leg into guard. Soprano didn't expect that.

Rasp drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Soprano manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rasp has Soprano in his guard.

Rasp is looking for a triangle here but Soprano uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Soprano takes a little break here. Rasp wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Rasp takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Rasp tries to bench press Soprano off him but Soprano keeps the position.

Soprano is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rasp knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Rasp is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Rasp manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Rasp is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Rasp has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Soprano can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Soprano got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rasp has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Soprano has managed to get both his arms back between Rasp's legs - danger averted.

Soprano is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rasp!
Rasp is looking to improve his position but Soprano isn't that keen on the idea.

BV Rasp showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Rasp has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
