Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Bollin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mauricio rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Max Bollin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Bollin looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
rua tightens his grip and picks Bollin up, before dumping him to the ground. Bollin manages to land in guard.
rua would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
rua gets to his feet - Bollin follows without any prompting.
Bollin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bollin takes one on the button.
rua throws a sloppy head kick and Bollin moves out of range easily.
rua forces Bollin back against the cage and clinches.
Bollin using the Thai plumb to throw knees but rua has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
rua is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
rua is looking to break free of the clinch but Bollin has double underhooks.
Bollin throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but rua blocks it with crossed arms.
Bollin misses with a punch to the body.

Bollin tries to score a body lock takedown but rua shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
rua lands an uppercut.
rua with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Bollin fails to pull the fight into his guard.

rua has gone for a leg lock! Bollin slips out almost immediately though and dives into rua's guard.
Bollin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but rua manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bollin has rua in his guard.
rua stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bollin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

rua lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
rua is nestled in close to Bollin, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

rua lands an overhand right.
Bollin closes the distance looking to clinch
and rua counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Bollin is lucky that one didn't land flush.
rua throws a right hand that Bollin ducks under and follows up with a left that Bollin also avoids with ease.
Bollin has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by rua.
rua goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from rua is defended easily by Bollin.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
rua unloads with some shots from mount but Bollin bucks and avoids them well.
rua wants to control the pace but Bollin is squirming around nicely.

rua really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bollin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

rua misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
rua is landing with some decent strikes but Bollin is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bollin is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Bollin tries to lock up and control but rua gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Well rua has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
