Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mishka Palov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mishka Palov could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Frank Diaz's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mishka Palov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Frank Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diaz shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Diaz wants to control but Palov is keeping him busy.
Diaz working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Palov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Diaz tries to free his leg and advance position but Palov is retaining full guard.
Diaz with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Diaz doesn't manage to clinch there - Palov circles away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Diaz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Palov pinned against the cage. Palov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Diaz counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Palov's guard now.

The fight stays on the outside here - Diaz looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Diaz moves into range and clinches up with Palov.

Palov tries to hold on but Diaz pushes him away.
Palov tries to reverse the position but Diaz maintains control.
Diaz breaks from Palov's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Palov can't escape the position.
Diaz raining down shots from the mount!
Palov tries to hold on but Diaz pushes him away.
Diaz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Diaz wants to control the pace but Palov is squirming around nicely.

Diaz cracks Palov with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Diaz lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Frank Diaz has got the better of the ground game so far.

The referee warns Palov that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Diaz is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Palov has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Diaz is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Palov to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Palov shrugs it off.
Diaz unloads with some shots from mount but Palov bucks and avoids them well.

Frank Diaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Diaz doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Diaz counters with a nice body shot.
Palov tries to clinch
and Diaz counters with an outside leg kick.
Diaz throws a head kick but Palov moves out of range.
Nice uppercut there from Diaz.
Diaz lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Diaz closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.

Diaz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Diaz takes the fight into the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The referee is keeping an eye on Diaz - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Diaz.

Diaz breaks from the clinch.
Diaz wants to clinch but Palov slips to the side

and Palov counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Palov.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Diaz takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Diaz jumps guard and drags Palov to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Diaz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Palov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Diaz manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Palov is trying to escape the mount.

Diaz postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Palov looks a forlorn figure.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Diaz has isolated one of Palov's arms. Palov looking to fight him off but Diaz twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
