Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tito Ortiz!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jackson as he jumps to the side.

Ortiz closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jackson tries to improve position but can't.
Ortiz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jackson keeps working.
Jackson is trying to improve his position.
Ortiz misses with the ground and pound.
Ortiz wants to control but Jackson is keeping him busy.
Jackson is looking for a sweep.

Ortiz stands up and beckons Jackson to his feet.

Ortiz shoots in and bounces Jackson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Jackson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Jackson is breathing heavily.

Jackson looking for subs off his back but Ortiz has passed one foot through into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ortiz is working for a kimura but Jackson is defending it quite comfortably.
Ortiz landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ortiz slips a nice elbow through Jackson's hands, connecting with Jackson's forehead.

Ortiz is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ortiz frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Ortiz is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jackson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Ortiz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Ortiz is in close to Jackson's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Jackson tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Jackson is looking for a triangle but Ortiz pushes his legs off easily.
Ortiz wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Jackson pushes Ortiz off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Jackson has his takedown stuffed

and Ortiz decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jackson's guard.
Ortiz cracks Jackson with a solid left hand.
Ortiz trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.
Jackson wants to sweep but no luck.

Ortiz decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jackson, up you get!

Jackson tries for a takedown but Ortiz circles away easily

and Ortiz counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jackson won't be happy with that.
Ortiz tries to score with some ground and pound. Jackson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Tito Ortiz has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jackson is trying to get back to half guard.

Ortiz stands up.
Ortiz throws an overhand right that lands on Jackson's shoulder, as Jackson tries to avoid the shot.

Jackson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jackson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ortiz.

Ortiz drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ortiz controlling from the top position.
Jackson keeping moving, preventing Ortiz from controlling successfully.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ortiz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tito Ortiz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Ortiz throws a right and a left that Jackson avoids nicely.
Jackson lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Jackson throws a combination. Ortiz tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Ortiz circles away from the clinch attempt.

Ortiz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ortiz showed some decent athleticism there.

Ortiz gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Ortiz shoots for a takedown but Jackson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Jackson lands a two punch combo.

Ortiz gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Jackson can't find room to land a body shot as Ortiz controls the action.

Ortiz gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Jackson regains guard.
Ortiz postures up.
Jackson keeping full guard, as Ortiz tries to pass.
Ortiz controlling from the top position.
Ortiz trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ortiz throws a big right hand that misses.
Jackson throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Ortiz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ortiz is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ortiz shoots in for a double leg but Jackson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Jackson misses with a wild combination.
Tito Ortiz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ortiz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jackson sprawls well initially but Ortiz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Ortiz throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ortiz is taking a breather. Jackson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Ortiz passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jackson!

Ortiz has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jackson's face.

Hunter Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tito Ortiz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
