Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Laveaux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buddy Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnett is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: 2 minutes to midnight. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laveaux keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Barnett takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Barnett shoots in for a takedown but Laveaux shows good takedown defense.
Laveaux throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Barnett.
Barnett throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Laveaux's waist but Laveaux gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Barnett off to one side.
Pierre Laveaux has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Buddy Barnett.

Laveaux rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barnett moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Laveaux gets control of Barnett's arms and successfully pulls guard. Laveaux will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Laveaux on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Laveaux tries to get out of the position.
Laveaux wants to get back to his feet but Barnett is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Barnett is fighting to break Laveaux's control of his arms but Laveaux is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Laveaux will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Barnett has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Laveaux is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Barnett is trying desperately to land a takedown but Laveaux is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Barnett.

Laveaux decides to stand up, so the ref orders Barnett to his feet.
Barnett shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Laveaux defends it nicely.
Laveaux lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Laveaux throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Barnett gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Laveaux.
Laveaux takes a swing at Barnett's ribcage but misses.
Laveaux does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Barnett shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Laveaux but Laveaux pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Barnett postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Laveaux is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Barnett, into his guard.

Barnett has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Laveaux is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Barnett.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Barnett is in all sorts of trouble here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Laveaux takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Laveaux fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Barnett to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Barnett looks to clinch but Laveaux throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Barnett taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
