PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dibo Cedeno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Grabowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Dibo Cedeno has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dibo Cedeno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Damian Grabowski!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cedeno throws a right and a left that Grabowski avoids nicely.

Grabowski clinches up against the cage.

Grabowski's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Grabowski moves into the clinch.

Grabowski is trying to trip Cedeno. He has hold of a leg but Cedeno is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Grabowski persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Cedeno could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Grabowski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cedeno swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cedeno knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Grabowski on the ground.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

so Grabowski counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Grabowski might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cedeno kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Grabowski is pushing down on Cedeno's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cedeno is fighting to maintain full guard but Grabowski has managed to sneak the leg through.
Cedeno might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Grabowski is trying to control. Cedeno wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Cedeno pushes Grabowski off looking to stand but Grabowski dives back in and keeps control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Grabowski shoots in for a takedown but Cedeno shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Grabowski looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cedeno is fending him off so far but Grabowski persists. Nope, Cedeno circles away and we're back to standing.
Dibo Cedeno has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damian Grabowski.

Grabowski throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cedeno was covering up waiting for the punch and Grabowski finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Grabowski is working for a submission of some sort.

Cedeno is not content to let Grabowski control the position.

Grabowski is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Grabowski looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Cedeno goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Grabowski.
Grabowski fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Grabowski shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cedeno wants to clinch

and Grabowski counters by clinching up.
Cedeno wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Grabowski breaks from the clinch.
Grabowski changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cedeno tries to avoid it but Grabowski manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cedeno to the ground. Cedeno escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cedeno tries to bum rush Grabowski with a series of wild strikes but Grabowski uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Damian Grabowski dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Grabowski closes the distance and clinches up with Cedeno, looking for a takedown. Grabowski pushes Cedeno against the cage but Cedeno circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dibo Cedeno is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Grabowski fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cedeno avoids it really well and circles away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Grabowski.
Dibo Cedeno has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damian Grabowski.
Cedeno stalks Grabowski and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Grabowski's face. Grabowski staggers backwards, shaken.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cedeno is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Grabowski is controlling him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Grabowski sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cedeno's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Grabowski looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Grabowski is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Cedeno is surviving well by controlling Grabowski's body position as best he can.

Grabowski postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Cedeno looks a forlorn figure.

Damian Grabowski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Grabowski looks up at the clock and then as Cedeno takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Grabowski smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cedeno has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
