Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between hurrican carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). hurrican carter has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
carter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gracie tries to avoid it but carter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gracie to the ground. Gracie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gracie keeps the fight on the outside.
carter is looking to clinch but Gracie is avoiding it.

carter has Gracie up against the cage in a clinch.

carter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
carter fails with the takedown.

Gracie looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Gracie landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Gracie seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
carter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.

Gracie prevents carter from standing back up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gracie in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie winds up and cracks carter with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Gracie takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Gracie frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Gracie takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Gracie fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

carter really wants to buck Gracie off and get back to his feet.
Gracie wants to control the pace but carter is squirming around nicely.

Despite being in the dominant position, David Gracie just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
carter tries to clinch up.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gracie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Gracie stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
carter shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Gracie counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in carter's guard now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for hurrican carter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gracie is pushing down on carter's leg trying to pass to half guard. carter is fighting to maintain full guard but Gracie has managed to sneak the leg through.

Gracie stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fight stays on the outside here - carter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Gracie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Gracie darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Gracie is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for carter!
Gracie lands with some vicious ground and pound - can carter hang on?
Gracie breaks from carter's wrist control and lands an elbow.
carter has given up his back. Will we see Gracie going for some submissions?

Gracie is persistently looking for the submission but carter is defending it well.

Gracie is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. carter knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften carter for a finish.

Gracie is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
carter takes a big shot to the side of the head.

Gracie is cranking carter's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for carter! He's tightened the choke and carter is tapping out!
