Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marc Montes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and ubereem alistair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montes keeps the fight on the outside.
alistair avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Montes has managed to clinch.
alistair tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
alistair drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Montes gets the underhooks and prevents it.
alistair with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
alistair throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Montes blocks it with crossed arms.

Montes breaks from the clinch.

alistair gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Montes to score an easy takedown into full guard.

alistair bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Montes's guard.

Montes is trying to control the position but alistair postures up.
alistair controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
alistair is pushing down on Montes's leg trying to pass to half guard. Montes is fighting to maintain full guard but alistair has managed to sneak the leg through.
Montes on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Montes tries to get out of the position.

Montes is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but alistair has just dragged him back down to the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

alistair is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

You can see the frustration on Montes's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

alistair is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Montes is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Montes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Marc Montes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
alistair misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Montes tries to keep at a distance but alistair has taken the fight into the clinch.

Montes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
alistair dives in and grabs Montes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Montes pushes down on alistair's head and hops out.

Montes is staying active underneath alistair, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Montes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for alistair on the ground.

alistair seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Montes does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Montes throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. alistair was covering up waiting for the punch and Montes finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Montes has taken the fight to the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Montes.
Montes lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

alistair tightens his grip and picks Montes up, before dumping him to the ground. Montes manages to land in guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Montes fails with an attempt to clinch.
Montes doesn't succeed with the takedown

and alistair decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Montes's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Montes wants to stand up but alistair is controlling him.
alistair stands and throws Montes's legs to the side, diving into side control.

alistair looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Montes tries to roll over but alistair keeps him under control.
Montes is refusing to be controlled, as alistair sits in half guard.
alistair lands with a punch from half guard.
alistair uses his free foot to push down on Montes's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Montes.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
alistair tries to control but Montes wriggling away.

Montes wants to control but alistair is having none of it.

alistair swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Montes is now in alistair's guard. A big mistake from alistair there, giving up the dominant position!
Montes throws a strike but alistair rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and alistair counters with a single leg into guard. Montes didn't expect that.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Montes is on top in guard.
Montes tries to stand but alistair is controlling from the bottom.
Montes looking to sit in guard and control but alistair gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
