Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Troy Lancaster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Valera Myasnikow!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lancaster shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Myasnikow manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Lancaster postures up.

Myasnikow is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Myasnikow scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Myasnikow tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lancaster paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Myasnikow lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lancaster at a distance.

Lancaster instigates a clinch.
Myasnikow stalling in the clinch but Lancaster improves position.
Myasnikow wants to break free but Lancaster has control.
Myasnikow is trying to break the clinch but Lancaster has him pressed against the cage.

Lancaster has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Myasnikow uses from the top position.
Myasnikow tries to free his leg and advance position but Lancaster is retaining full guard.
Lancaster wants to stand and escape but Myasnikow is having none of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lancaster keeping moving, preventing Myasnikow from controlling successfully.
Myasnikow has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lancaster is proving hard to escape from.

Lancaster is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Lancaster has picked Myasnikow up - he's going for a ride! Lancaster dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Myasnikow is looking to improve his position.

Lancaster decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Lancaster moves into range and clinches up with Myasnikow.
Myasnikow using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Lancaster has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Myasnikow breaks from the clinch.

Myasnikow bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Lancaster wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Lancaster on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lancaster tries to get out of the position.
Myasnikow trying to control the action but Lancaster is working from the bottom.

Lancaster is trying to buck Myasnikow off.
Myasnikow tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Lancaster shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Myasnikow manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Myasnikow is striking but Lancaster is not phased and passes to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like Lancaster is going to stand back up.

Lancaster decides to stand and escape the position.
Myasnikow defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lancaster.

Myasnikow looks to clinch

and Lancaster counters with a takedown into side control.
Myasnikow is looking to regain half guard here but Lancaster keeps moving and retains side control.

Lancaster decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Lancaster gets the takedown into side control.
Myasnikow wants to control but Lancaster postures up.

Lancaster has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Myasnikow fails with the takedown

and Lancaster counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Myasnikow's guard now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Myasnikow pushes Lancaster off and scrambles back to his feet.

Lancaster shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Myasnikow napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Lancaster decides to stand back up. Lancaster steps back and let's Myasnikow get back to his feet.
Myasnikow wants to clinch but Lancaster slips to the side

and Lancaster counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Lancaster manages to pull guard.
Myasnikow trying to control the position from guard on top but Lancaster is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lancaster is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Myasnikow is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lancaster uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Lancaster closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Myasnikow is trying to stall.
Myasnikow tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lancaster smiles and moves away.

and Lancaster decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Myasnikow's guard.
Troy Lancaster has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Valera Myasnikow.

Lancaster gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Lancaster shoots in and bounces Myasnikow off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Myasnikow looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lancaster is one step ahead there.

Lancaster decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Troy Lancaster dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Lancaster scores a takedown into full mount!
Lancaster controlling the pace for now.
Lancaster's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Lancaster stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Lancaster throws an overhand right that lands on Myasnikow's shoulder, as Myasnikow tries to avoid the shot.

Lancaster closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Myasnikow is looking to improve his position.
Myasnikow takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Lancaster postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Myasnikow to stand up.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Myasnikow, right into the meat.
Lancaster throws a lazy right hand but Myasnikow sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Myasnikow lands a head kick!

Myasnikow gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Lancaster wants to stand but Myasnikow is controlling his posture from full guard.
Myasnikow trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Lancaster wanted to stand there but Myasnikow had control of the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lancaster got a little sloppy there for a moment and Myasnikow has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lancaster has managed to get both his arms back between Myasnikow's legs - danger averted.
Myasnikow looking for a sweep. Not yet Myasnikow, not yet.

Lancaster stands up from Myasnikow's guard - Lancaster perhaps looking for a knockout.

Lancaster clinches up with Myasnikow and pushes him back against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Lancaster has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Myasnikow is trying to keep an underhook but Lancaster manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Lancaster stands up out of the half guard.

Lancaster shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lancaster was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Lancaster is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Lancaster moves into the clinch.

Lancaster turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Myasnikow is trying to improve his position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Troy Lancaster showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lancaster, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
