PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Blade Daywalker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Hibbert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daywalker comes into the arena with Blade OST - Blood Rave blaring out of the sound system. Hibbert has chosen The Used- Taste of Ink as his entrance music. Josh Hibbert has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Blade Daywalker's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Blade Daywalker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Josh Hibbert!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daywalker throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hibbert sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Daywalker shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hibbert but Hibbert pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Daywalker throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Daywalker misses with a looping left.
Hibbert tries to close the distance and clinch but Daywalker swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hibbert with a poor takedown

and Daywalker counters with a shoot takedown. Hibbert fights it but they end up in guard.
Hibbert preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Hibbert manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Daywalker is wriggling around trying to escape.
Daywalker is breathing heavily.
Hibbert trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hibbert takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Hibbert has hold of Daywalker's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Daywalker manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Hibbert goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Daywalker turns into him and now he's in Hibbert's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Daywalker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hibbert keeping moving, preventing Daywalker from controlling successfully.

Hibbert has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Daywalker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hibbert trying to keep a closed guard but Daywalker is proving a slippery customer.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Daywalker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Daywalker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hibbert not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Daywalker is working Hibbert over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Hibbert is trying to keep Daywalker in close.

Hibbert looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Daywalker slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Daywalker trying to control the action but Hibbert is working from the bottom.

Daywalker is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hibbert has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hibbert gets back to half guard.

Hibbert is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Daywalker pulls his head out easily.
Hibbert trying to hold on to Daywalker's head to control him but Daywalker postures up.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Daywalker is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Daywalker is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Daywalker wants to control but Hibbert is keeping him busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hibbert is looking to improve his position.

Daywalker is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hibbert defends it well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hibbert darts in trying to clinch
and Daywalker counters with a nice body kick.
Hibbert shoots in and drives through. Daywalker sprawls well.

Hibbert shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Daywalker manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hibbert wants to pass the guard but Daywalker is keeping the position.

Daywalker has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Hibbert doesn't defend quickly enough and Daywalker has managed to lock this one up! Can Hibbert escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Daywalker on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Blade Daywalker!
