The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scott goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Lesner shoots in for a takedown but Scott shows good takedown defense.
Scott throws a right hand that Lesner ducks under and follows up with a left that Lesner also avoids with ease.

Scott uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lesner.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lesner can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lesner drops back, looking for a kneebar! Scott looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Scott looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Scott!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Scott wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lesner, who protects the arm well.

Scott wants to stand but Lesner is controlling his arm.
Scott is trying to move to mount but Lesner reverses beautifully and ends up in Scott's guard.
Lesner trying to control the position from guard on top but Scott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lesner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Scott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Scott escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lesner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Lesner is in close to Scott's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Scott has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lesner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lesner avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Scott pushes Lesner off and scrambles back to his feet.
Lesner looks for a takedown but Scott sprawls well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lesner misses with a straight left.
Scott defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lesner.

Lesner closes the distance and clinches up with Scott, looking for a takedown. Lesner pushes Scott against the cage but Scott circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lesner closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Scott changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Scott throws a series of punches but Lesner moves out of range.
Scott stalks Lesner and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Lesner's face. Lesner staggers backwards, shaken.

Scott's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Lesner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Scott manages to avoid it.

Lesner feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Scott is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
