Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremy Pederson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Heel Jando!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Bruno Lombardi and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pederson shoots for a double leg takedown but Jando sprawls well. He's pushed Pederson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Pederson misses with a takedown attempt - Jando sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Pederson shoots in but Jando avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeremy Pederson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jando drives through and clinches with Pederson against the cage.

Jando has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pederson uses from the top position.

Jando wants to get back to his feet but Pederson passes into half guard.
Pederson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Jando is trying to maintain the position but Pederson is very close to passing his half guard.
Jando is positioning himself well to prevent Pederson advancing to mount.
Pederson is taking a breather. Jando says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Pederson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jando's head.
Jando is controlling Pederson's trapped leg to prevent Pederson from advancing to side control.

Pederson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Jando is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Pederson pulls his head out easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jando can do anything to dispel that myth.
Pederson winds up and cracks Jando with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Jando trying to control but Pederson postures up.
Jando makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jando.
Pederson slips nicely into half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Pederson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jando does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Jando is looking to control Pederson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jando avoid being mounted?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jando is looking to improve his position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Jando shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Pederson counters with a single leg into guard. Jando didn't expect that.

Pederson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Jando is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jando has his hands on Pederson's head, controlling the position.

Jando kicks Pederson off and gets to his feet.
Pederson tries for a takedown but Jando circles away easily

and Jando counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pederson's guard now.
Jando forces his way into half guard.
Pederson is looking to escape.
Jando is looking to take a break and control but Pederson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jando is thwarting Pederson's attempts to control the position.

Pederson gets back to full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pederson looking for a triangle here. Jando is fighting it but it looks tight! Pederson pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Jando is tapping out - this one is all over!
