The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uggla changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lashley tries to avoid it but Uggla manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lashley to the ground. Lashley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Uggla gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Uggla looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Lashley trying to control the position from guard on top but Uggla is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Uggla is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Uggla is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Uggla trying to keep a closed guard but Lashley is proving a slippery customer.

Lashley is fighting to break Uggla's control of his arms but Uggla is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Lashley gets to his feet. Uggla looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lashley can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Uggla frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Lashley wants to control but Uggla is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
