Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marko Paric (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marko Basara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paric tests Basara's chin there with a solid looking shot.


It looks like Marko Basara has been cut.

A big head kick from Basara and Paric is sent sprawling to the canvas!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Basara wanted to stand there but Paric had control of the position.
Paric has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Basara wants to stand but Paric is controlling his posture from full guard.

Paric manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Paric closes the distance and pushes Basara back into the cage.

Paric is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Basara defends well.
Basara wants to stand but Paric has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Basara wants to stand and escape but instead Paric has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Basara is looking to stand up but Paric isn't so interested in that idea.

Basara really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Paric. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Paric connects with a nice short shot to Basara's temple.
Paric seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Paric postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Basara to stand up.

Paric is trying to drag Basara to the mat but Basara just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Paric works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Marko Paric will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

and Paric counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Basara stuffs the takedown attempt from Paric. Paric gets slowly back to his feet.
Basara tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Paric paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Paric ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Paric no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Paric is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Paric slips nicely into half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Basara is pressed up against the cage. Paric has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Basara down to the mat. Basara avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Paric shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Paric showed some decent athleticism there.
Paric seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Basara does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Paric, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
