Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Phillipe Render (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Jefferson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jefferson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Jefferson gets to mount! Render was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Render will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Jefferson up against the ropes.

Render drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jefferson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Render has Jefferson in his guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jefferson connects with a nice short shot to Render's temple.

Jefferson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Render keeps working.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
You can see the frustration on Render's face as Jefferson controls the position.

Jefferson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Render sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jefferson somewhat.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jefferson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Jefferson breaks from Render's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Render tries to lock up and control but Jefferson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Render regains half guard.
Jefferson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Jefferson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Render with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Render is defending against the submission attempts here by Jefferson.
Jefferson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Render tries to roll over but Jefferson keeps him under control.
Jefferson content to control rather than advance.
Render is trying to stand.
Jefferson winds up and cracks Render with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Render shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jefferson's guard.
