The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sonnen tries to keep at a distance but Meksikonkansalainen has taken the fight into the clinch.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Meksikonkansalainen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sonnen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Meksikonkansalainen manages to get himself to full guard.

Horrible takedown by Meksikonkansalainen or perhaps it was just good defense by Sonnen which made him look bad.

Sonnen jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Meksikonkansalainen walks away with a smile on his face. Sonnen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Jesus Moses Mortimer Meksikonkansalainen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fail Sonnen.

and Meksikonkansalainen counters by moving into the clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Meksikonkansalainen turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Meksikonkansalainen manages to end up in side control.
Sonnen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Meksikonkansalainen's best efforts.

Meksikonkansalainen has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Sonnen to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Meksikonkansalainen is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Sonnen pulls down on the head and he's put Meksikonkansalainen to sleep! This one is all over!
